About Fieldlab UPPS

The Fieldlab supports companies and organisations with the setup of their (re)design process and the production of personalized products. Using 3D scanning techniques, the development of smart sizing systems, parametric shape modeling and flexible production techniques (such as 3D printing), but also in other ways, the entrepreneur is supported in their innovation track.

Within a collaboration with the Fieldlab, it is possible to collect (3D) data, analyse it in scientific manner and eventually evaluate the personalized products in the lab or field.

To discover what the next step can be for a new generation of personalized products, companies and professionals can get advice on personalized designs and explanations about what it all involves.

What’s in it for me?

Particpants can make use of the facilities and expertise within the Fieldlab. In addition, the government finances 50% of the project costs to make participation by companies and design professionals attractive. The remaining 50% of the costs can (partly) be contributed ‘in kind’, for example by contributing hours of the entrepreneur. In this way, participants can carry out projects and develop knowledge in a cost-effective manner.

Experimenting and sharing knowledge.

The opportunities for Ultra Personalization of products and services are great, but they are not yet known to most Dutch entrepreneurs and designers. The Fieldlab wants to let entrepreneurs’ experiment and help them accelerate developments, but also inspire other entrepreneurs and creative professionals by sharing the results. Therefore, we show the ‘demonstrators’ developed within the Fieldlab to a wider audience and share the knowledge on a platform.
